Sterling Silver & Amethyst Charles Rennie Mackintosh Column Drop Earrings - 18mm (RME3312)
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a gifted artist, designer, craftsman and architect, one of the defining figures of the Glasgow Style and the flowering of Art Nouveau in Scotland. As part of the celebrated group known as 'The Four', his influence on decorative arts remains unmatched.
These column drop earrings, crafted in solid Sterling Silver, are Mackintosh from top to toe. Each earring hangs from a small square stud (a neat geometric detail in itself) before dropping into an open rectangular frame. The upper section features a grid of four precise square cut-outs, while the lower half opens into a sweeping curved form cradling a pear-cut amethyst in a simple bezel setting. Its soft violet teardrop brings warmth and colour to the architectural metalwork surrounding it.
Hung on a secure push back fitting, they make a confident yet elegant statement.
18mm x 7mm, total weight 3.2g.
