Sterling Silver & Blue Topaz Charles Rennie Mackintosh Column Pendant - 25mm (RMSP6103BT)
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a gifted artist, designer, craftsman and architect, one of the defining figures of the Glasgow Style and the flowering of Art Nouveau in Scotland. As part of the celebrated group known as 'The Four', his influence on decorative arts remains unmatched.
This column pendant, crafted in solid Sterling Silver, is perhaps the most architectural piece in the range. The lower section features an open grid of six square cut-outs (two columns of three) evoking the structural ironwork and interior grids of Mackintosh's buildings. Above, a blue topaz sits in a clean bezel setting, its pointed oval form echoing the lancet windows and pointed arches of his architectural work.
The result is a piece that feels less like jewellery and more like a miniature building; precise, considered and quietly extraordinary. Approximately 25mm x 6mm, weight 1.4g.
