Sterling Silver Celtic Claddagh Pendant - 17mm (SIP3517)
The Claddagh is one of the most enduring symbols to emerge from the Celtic tradition shared across Scotland and Ireland, its three-part form carrying a layered meaning that has remained legible for centuries. The two hands presenting a crowned heart represent friendship, loyalty and love respectively, a symbolism rooted in the close-knit coastal communities where the design originated. The explicit inscription of those three values onto the piece itself reflects a tradition of engraved motto jewellery with deep roots in Celtic and Scottish silverwork, where words and symbols were combined to reinforce and clarify meaning. The use of a green stone connects the piece to the broader Irish and Celtic colour associations that have long accompanied Claddagh jewellery.
This pendant takes the form of a flat circular disc with a raised outer border carrying the words Friendship, Loyalty and Love engraved in a continuous band around the circumference. At the lower edge, two small modelled hands extend inward from either side, and a small heart sits centrally below them, referencing the Claddagh's classic motif elements within the circular format. At the centre of the disc, a large round green cubic zirconia sits in a bezel setting, its deep, saturated colour dominating the face of the pendant. The silver throughout carries a high mirror polish. A smooth bail connects the pendant above.
At 17mm x 16mm and approximately 2.4g, it is compact and well-detailed. 925 sterling silver with round green cubic zirconia in bezel setting. Bail fitting.
