Sterling Silver Celtic Claddagh Trinity Knot Pendant - 24mm (SIP3511)
The Claddagh is one of the most enduring symbols to emerge from the Celtic tradition shared across Scotland and Ireland, its form (two hands presenting a crowned heart) carrying a layered meaning of love, loyalty and friendship that has remained legible across centuries. Originating in the fishing communities of the west of Ireland, the design entered the broader Celtic symbolic vocabulary and has since become one of the most widely recognised motifs in the tradition. The Trinity knot, or triquetra, brings a further layer of meaning: its three interlocked arcs, forming a continuous unbroken line representing eternity and the indivisibility of threefold concepts. In early Celtic Christian thought, the Holy Trinity; in older tradition, the interconnection of earth, sea and sky.
This pendant combines both symbols within a single unified composition. The lower section presents the Claddagh in its classic form (two modelled hands extending from either side to cradle a smooth domed heart) with a small decorative crown rising above it. The hands connect at the wrist to a circular band that frames the upper portion of the pendant, within which a Trinity knot is set centrally, its three lobes interlocking with clean definition. The finish throughout is a high mirror polish, the surface detail crisp and well-resolved. A smooth bail completes the pendant.
At 24mm x 16mm and approximately 2g, the piece carries genuine presence without excess weight. 925 sterling silver. Bail fitting.
