Sterling Silver Charles Rennie Mackintosh Botanical Circle Pendant - 20mm (RMSP6111)
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a gifted artist, designer, craftsman and architect, one of the defining figures of the Glasgow Style and the flowering of Art Nouveau in Scotland. As part of the celebrated group known as 'The Four', his influence on decorative arts remains unmatched.
This circle pendant, crafted in solid Sterling Silver, is perhaps the most garden-like piece in the range. Within a clean round frame, a full arrangement of stylised botanical forms rises from the base, slender stems bearing roses at various stages of bloom, from tight closed buds to a fully open spiralling flower at the centre. It has the quality of a miniature garden scene, abundant and beautifully composed.
Where other pieces in the range capture a single motif, this one tells a fuller story; the whole Glasgow rose garden contained within a single circle.
Approximately 20mm x 20mm, weight 1.7g.
