Sterling Silver Celtic Knotwork Ring, oval green stone, broad band
The use of interlaced knotwork to decorate the full band of a ring is one of the most accomplished expressions of the Celtic silversmith's art, the continuous strand resolving without interruption around the shank.
The broad, flat-profile band is worked in open interlaced plaitwork across its full face, continuous on either side of the central setting. At the centre, an oval green stone sits horizontally in a smooth bezel, its saturated colour anchoring the composition. Finished in a high mirror polish.
