Sterling Silver Irish Shamrock Celtic Pendant - 20mm (SIP3513)
The shamrock has been one of the most enduring emblems of Celtic tradition across Scotland and Ireland for centuries, its three-lobed form carrying associations of faith, hope and the natural world that predate its adoption as a national symbol. Within the broader Celtic decorative vocabulary, the trefoil form recurs across carved stonework, manuscript illumination and metalwork, its three-part structure connecting it to the same symbolic weight placed on threefold forms throughout the tradition. As a subject for silverwork it has a long and consistent history, the rounded, organic lobes of the shamrock translating naturally into the domed, sculptural quality that characterises the best Celtic silver.
This pendant presents the shamrock as a fully three-dimensional, sculpted form. Three rounded heart-shaped lobes radiate from a central point, each one domed and generously proportioned, with a shallow central vein running the length of each lobe to add surface definition. The lobes are separated by clean recessed divisions that give the silhouette clear, readable structure. Below, a short curved stem tapers to a neat point. The silver throughout is finished to a high mirror polish, the domed surfaces producing strong, rolling light reflection. A smooth bail connects the pendant above.
At 20mm x 16mm and approximately 2.1g, it has a solid, well-formed presence. 925 sterling silver. Bail fitting.
