The Trinity knot, or triquetra, is among the most recognisable symbols to emerge from Scotland's Celtic heritage. Three broad, pointed lobes extend outward from a central interlacing, each terminating in a clean upward point. A continuous enclosing ring passes behind the three lobes, binding the composition together and giving the piece its characteristic circular outer profile. The strands are rounded and substantial in section, their surfaces sweeping and uninterrupted. The silver throughout is finished to a high mirror polish.
